چکیده

In this paper a number of pilot-based channel estimation techniques are investigated for a multiple antenna system using the zero-forcing algorithm. The techniques are tested in typical indoor and outdoor (vehicular) channels. Performance results are presented in terms of bit error rate, mean squared error and data throughput. It is found that different pilot strategies offer the best performance in each environment and hence an adaptive system should be considered. Keywords—Channel estimation, COFDM, MIMO, Zero Forcing

Improved Channel Estimation for DVB-T2 Systems by Utilizing Side Information on OFDM Sparse Channel Estimation

The second generation of digital video broadcasting (DVB-T2) standard utilizes orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system to reduce and to compensate the channel effects by utilizing its estimation. Since wireless channels are inherently sparse, it is possible to utilize sparse representation (SR) methods to estimate the channel. In addition to sparsity feature of the channel, the...

Proposed Pilot Pattern Methods for Improvement DVB-T System Performance

Recently, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been extensively used in communications systems to resist channel impairments in frequency selective channels. OFDM is a multicarrier transmission technology in wireless environment that use a large number of orthogonal subcarriers to transmit information. OFDM is one of the most important blocks in digital video broadcast-terrestr...

Iterative Channel Estimation Techniques for Multiple Input Multiple Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Systems

ITERATIVE CHANNEL ESTIMATION TECHNIQUES FOR MULTIPLE INPUT MULTIPLE OUTPUT ORTHOGONAL FREQUENCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING SYSTEMS Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is well-known for its efficient high speed transmission and robustness to frequency-selective fading channels. On the other hand, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna systems have the ability to increase capacity...

Performance Evaluation of MB-OFDM based UWB System

This paper investigates the Multi-band OFDM (MB-OFDM) based physical (PHY) layer proposal for IEEE 802.15.3a working group on short-range high data-rate Ultra-wide-Band (UWB) communications. An overview of the MB-OFDM PHY layer architecture with its various parameters is presented and the optimal choice of critical parameters is discussed. Next, we derive the theoretical un-coded Bit Error Rate...
